Lovingly Renovated
David & Beverley moved to Courlay in 2022 and have been renovating both their own house and Le Petit Gite du Roy since then.
Le Petit Gite has become "the house that David built" because everything has been changed except the four external walls and a couple of internal walls! Lots of new skills have been learnt along the way.
The design, decoration and art work are all Beverley's, the electricity, wall building, floor laying and much more is David's.
Le Petit Gite du Roy is quirky and fun as well as functional. Every aspect of your stay has been considered and designed to make it as comfortable as possible for you.

We are just 30 mins away from the world famous Puy du Fou - a unique park in the world as it is an historical theme park and so much more! It is the number 1 amusement park in all of France
We are also only 30 mins away from the Parc Oriental at Maulévrier, it s stunningly beautiful walk around the serene atmosphere of the orient. They are open during the day and in the summer you can have an illuminated night walk - not to be missed. This is the largest oriental park in Europe.
Nantes, Saumur, Angers are all different but beautiful cities along with Loire which are only and hour + away.
South you have Niort whose market hall won the Best in France in 2024 with its pedestrian streets, the Sèvre Niortaise flowing through its heart and out towards the Marais Poitevin area, also know as Green Venice where you can hire boats, cycle or just walk along the beautiful green countryside. All just an hour away
